Construction of Dredging Barge
We successfully won the contract to construct The Kari Hege dredging barge with principle dimensions of 10m wide x 20m long x 2.5m deep, with a working draught of 1m.
The barge features 3 spud legs of 11.5m in length which can be independently or simultaneously operated providing 6.3m of anchorage beneath the vessel providing stability under working conditions. The hull design is a single chine light displacement configuration and the barge was designed to fit a large excavator onto the front of the deck as well as carrying a JCB JS360 long reach excavator with a 21m boom on board.
A raised wheelhouse provides good all-round visibility and comfortably houses 3 people with toilet facilities conveniently located under the wheelhouse stairs. The barge is powered by a 200hp Hydromaster unit also sited under the raised wheelhouse.
